Loftvex Catalog Risk Audit FAQ
Last updated: March 15, 2026
What does the app do?
Loftvex Catalog Risk Audit scans Shopify product and variant data for operational issues such as missing SKUs, missing descriptions, missing images, invalid pricing, duplicate SKUs, missing barcodes, and risky inventory settings.
How should I evaluate a newer app with few reviews?
Start without paying: review the public demo, preview the sample CSV, or use a browser-only checker first. If the output matches your cleanup workflow, install the app and run the free read-only audit against the live Shopify catalog.
Does the app edit my products?
No. The app is designed to be read-only for catalog data. It identifies issues and gives merchants a prioritized list of findings, but it does not write product changes back to Shopify.
What Shopify access does the app request?
The app requests the read_products scope so it can analyze product and variant data needed for the audit.
Why does Shopify mention store owner or staff data?
Shopify may surface store and account identity metadata during app installation, embedded Admin use, billing, and support context. Loftvex uses that metadata only to authenticate the shop, keep the embedded app working, handle Shopify-managed billing, and support the merchant account. Product audits still run from read-only product catalog access.
Can I export the findings?
Yes. The free plan includes CSV export so teams can assign fixes and work through findings outside the app if they prefer. You can preview a sample CSV cleanup export before installing.
What is in the CSV export?
The export includes the audit time, severity, rule code, product title, product handle, Shopify admin ID, variant title, SKU, issue message, and recommendation so a teammate, freelancer, or agency can work the list row by row.
Does the app support recurring monitoring?
Yes. Eligible plans can enable automatic monitoring on a chosen cadence so merchants can keep track of catalog health over time.
Is there audit history?
Yes. Supported plans can view saved audit runs and compare progress over time.
Who should use this app?
The best fit is a merchant, agency, or operations team that already has enough products for catalog cleanup to be repetitive work. The app is especially useful before channel expansion, feed cleanup, inventory process changes, or recurring merchandising QA.
What is the first paid upgrade moment?
Teams usually upgrade when they need audit history, more monthly runs, or automatic monitoring. The free plan is useful for a first scan and CSV cleanup handoff; paid plans are designed for recurring cleanup workflows.
When should I run the first audit?
Run the first audit before a feed launch, marketplace upload, bulk edit, vendor catalog import, inventory sync change, or agency cleanup project. Those moments are when missing SKUs, duplicate SKUs, barcode gaps, image gaps, invalid prices, and oversell settings are most likely to create follow-up work.
What happens after the scan?
Start with high-severity findings, export a CSV if your plan includes it, assign fixes to the right operator, and keep monitoring on if the catalog changes often. The app does not auto-fix products, so merchants stay in control of catalog changes.
Is this a feed app or bulk editor?
No. Loftvex is the read-only audit step before feed, inventory, or bulk-edit work. It finds risky product records and exports a CSV cleanup list; your team still controls the actual product changes in Shopify Admin, a spreadsheet, a bulk editor, or another editing workflow.
Can this fix Merchant Center errors automatically?
No. Loftvex does not promise marketplace approval, ranking improvement, or automatic fixes. It helps identify source Shopify catalog issues that often make feed and channel work harder to trust.
Evaluating a newer app before trusting it? Start with the public demo, sample CSV, and browser-only tools before installing. When you are ready, the first Shopify run is a free read-only audit using product access for catalog checks.
- No product writes: Loftvex does not edit products, variants, inventory, collections, orders, customers, or payments.
- No surprise paid start: paid plans use Shopify-managed approval screens, and the free plan is available for the first cleanup pass.
- Clear first value: run the audit, review high-severity findings, and export a CSV cleanup handoff if the output is useful.
